New National Squad members Ryan Minihan, Leah Croucher and John and Gillian Waite travelled to the Radcliffe Arena in Nottingham to attend their first training since being selected.

Ryan who is in the peewee category attended a training session with the newly selected and the current members of his category. During the session with the junior coach, Master Derek Sumner, Ryan learnt what would be expected of him in the coming year and took part in a training session designed for the peewee category.

The other three members of MKUTA had both an earlier start and a later finish than Ryan as they all attended a Poomsae Judging Course led by Grandmaster T W Shin.

Again the course was for new and current members of the National Squad. The course, which was closed to spectators, took the students through all aspects of the WTF Poomsae Rule Book, updated January 2014.

The afternoon culminated in three examinations; physical where the students performed patterns, practical where they judged a series of patterns and written. A week later the results were announced. John successfully completed his C Class refresher qualification, Gillian was awarded a C Class qualification and Leah was awarded a P Class qualification.

Well done to all three.
